Inktober vs Skeletober

Once again, I am participating in Inktober, where artists on the Internet try to do one drawing per day in ink. I am using the official prompts list, but as an added challenge, I’m also making each into an original robot character. Here’s a few that I’ve done so far:

However, that is not enough for me! I’m also participating in a very special event of my own devising: Skeletober! In Skeletober, the theme is always Skeletor, the main villain from the Masters of the Universe franchise. Skeletor is one of my most favorite characters to draw, and is the perfect character to represent both the scary and silly sides of the Halloween season.

I had a lot of fun interpreting and re-interpreting Skeletor in many different ways the first time I did Skeletober in 2016, where I finished 25 drawings. This time, all my Skeletober entries will be digital, have color, and I am determined to finish 31 before the month ends.

But between Skeletober and Inktober, that means I’ll have to finish 62 pieces of art this month! How? Have I gone insane? Yes, I probably have, and you can watch my brain plummet into madness because I’m streaming on my Twitch channel pretty much every day.

Things got off to a rough start right away. I couldn’t wait to get started, so I began at midnight on October 1st, but there was heavy rain with thunder and lightning, so the power went out and caused a lot of problems with my computer. I’ve been playing catch-up ever since. It’s not going to be easy, but I am doing this to prove to myself that I can, and that it can be done with decent quality. I’m halfway through and it’s been a lot of work, but it’s also been fun and I have legitimately enjoyed it so far.

That said, I am really going to enjoy when this madness is all over! Until then, you can follow my Twitter, Tumblr, and Instagram pages to see everything as it gets posted.
