I was commissioned to draw each of the 5 Combaticons from the original Transformers in my own style. I drew them based on the appearance of the original toys. But I am a huge fan of the Combaticons as they appeared in Generation 2, with their enduringly garish neon 90's color schemes. So, once I was done with doing the illustrations the way they were supposed to be, I recolored the artwork into the G2 version and added that swirly green grid background for the proper G2 packaging feel.

Personally, I like G2 Combaticons way more than the originals! What's better than a crew of neon death machines with purple camouflage?
